27 Oct 2016

Join us for a community forum that will explore national trends in immigrant integration and discuss the good work that’s being done locally to support our immigrant communities. Keynote speaker Felicia Escobar, Special Assistant to President Obama for Immigration Policy, will bring her insight to the wide range of welcoming work that’s happening in communities across the country, before a panel discussion will shift the focus of the discussion to local best practices. Moderated by Janera Solomon, the panel will feature Henry Reese; City of Asylum, Khara Timsina, Bhutanese Community Association of Pittsburgh, and Wasi Mohamed, the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh. The event will also feature Tuhin Das, Burmese refugee and Poet-In-Residences at City of Asylum, who will perform a reading from his work.
